Roemheld’s successful rotor lock range has been extended to offer modular components that can operate in extreme conditions across all industries.  Originally designed for use during the maintenance of on- and offshore wind power plants, the hydraulic and electro-mechanical components have since been successfully used in the medical and sheet metal forming industries and in diverse applications including freeze-drying plants in the food industry and as door locks in amphibian vehicles.

All Roemheld rotor lock components are low-maintenance and, as they meet the corrosion protection requirements for offshore platforms, with surface protection as per DIN ISO 12944, C4, they can also be used in salty, ambient air. They are suitable for use at temperatures between -30° C and +70° C and offer a maximum side load of 7,000 kN.

The core of the rotor lock is a double acting bolt with position monitoring (hydraulically or electro-mechanically operated) which is used as a lock mechanism. The components are optionally available with a check valve, additional mechanical locking or adjustable, non-contact position monitoring. In limited spaces or special installation positions, they can be delivered without housing or without bolt position control for added versatility.
