Production of complex-shaped car body components: AP&T demonstrates capabilities in tooling for hot forming of high-strength Aluminum

With AP&T’s production technology for hot forming of aluminum, body components which traditionally consist of several joined parts can be formed in a single step. This technology enables net shape forming and thus also reduced production time and costs for car manufacturers. To demonstrate the possibilities, AP&T conducted a development project in order to design and manufacture a new tool for complex hot forming. AP&T delivers press hardening lines to Unipres in the UK and France

Unipres visits AP&T in Ulricehamn, Sweden. Tsutomu Serizawa and Ryoji Maeda from Unipres in the middle, with Peter Robisch and Yuki Yoshikawa from AP&T on either side. Japanese Unipres supplies many of the world’s major car manufacturers with car body parts made out of pressed sheet metal. CRAVEN FAWCETT RELEASES NEW EXTRUDER

Craven Fawcett, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of clay preparation machinery and part of Group Rhodes, has added a new model to its extruder line up, with the capability to deliver higher volume outputs. Climate-smart clothes hangers manufactured with equipment from AP&T

Metal is not the only material that can be formed with equipment from AP&T. Employing a unique method, Ekoligens’ production plant in Kungälv, Sweden, uses AP&T presses to produce hangers out of recycled paper and cardboard. So far production has been on a small scale, but in order to meet the growing demand for its products, Ekoligens is investing in a completely new, fully automated two press line that should be operational by the second half of 2020.
