This quarter our  member spotlight turns to Raybould Machine Tools Ltd; a family owned business which has been established within the manufacturing industry for over forty-five years. It specialises in the supply, purchase and disposal of used and new manufacturing equipment, from single machines to complete factory clearances.

We sat down with Lee Raybould, Managing Director, to find out more.

Can you tell us about the history of Raybould Machine Tools? member spotlight

Raybould Machine Tools was formed in 1974 when my father started the business and has been based in Cradley Heath ever since. Our main business activities during this time have included the buying and selling of used manufacturing equipment, specialising in mechanical and hydraulic power presses, complete press-lines, decoilers, levellers, press feeding equipment and most machinery you would associate with the metal pressing industry.

How have the last 12 months been for Raybould Machine Tools?

The last 12 months have been tough. The major factor causing the economic slowdown has been Brexit and the uncertainties that surround this. Brexit has affected most manufacturing businesses across the UK and there has been a hesitancy to invest in additional manufacturing capacity in such uncertain times.

What would you like to see from the company in 2020?

We will continue selling used and reconditioned manufacturing equipment. However, we have recently commenced promoting new equipment including mechanical power presses, press feed and coil handling equipment manufactured in both Europe and China. These additions place us now in a unique position to offer machinery to meet all customer requirements be it used, reconditioned or new.

What would you say is Raybould Machine Tools USP?

We are one of the only UK companies in our field that offer an extensive range of both new and used machinery. This enables to us offer complete “Turn-Key” projects utilising new and used equipment to meet customers’ exact requirements.

Why did Raybould Machine Tools become a member of the MMMA?

The MMMA has been established for many years; recently I have seen it grow and gain many more members. We are excited to see how the MMMA will benefit our business; we aim to network with members within the group and take advantage of the MMMA social media platforms and website to promote our products and services.
